Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled REDCap Administrator to manage and support our institution’s REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) platform. This role will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, user support, and governance of REDCap to ensure secure, accurate, and efficient data collection for clinical and research studies.
The ideal candidate has experience with REDCap administration, strong communication skills, and a background in research or healthcare data environments.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade the REDCap platform and related components.
Monitor system performance and perform routine backups, updates, and patches.
Manage system integrations, APIs, and data exports.
User Support & Training
Create and manage user accounts, access roles, and project permissions.
Provide day-to-day support for users and troubleshoot technical issues.
Develop and deliver training sessions, documentation, and tutorials for researchers and staff.
Project & Study Assistance
Consult with research teams to assist with database design, data validation, branching logic, and survey distribution.
Review projects for data collection best practices and platform efficiency.
Security & Compliance
Ensure compliance with institutional data security policies, HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
Maintain audit logs and assist in internal/external audits as needed.
Data Management & Reporting
Assist with data extraction and analysis support (e.g., exporting to Excel, SPSS, R).
Provide guidance on REDCap APIs for advanced users or integrations.
Collaboration
Work with research, IT, and data governance teams to align REDCap usage with institutional standards.
Participate in the REDCap consortium community to stay current with updates and share knowledge.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field.
2+ years of experience administering REDCap or a similar data capture system.
Experience with server environments (Linux or Windows) and databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server).
Familiarity with data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) and clinical research workflows.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred:
Experience with scripting or programming (e.g., PHP, Python, R).
Understanding of APIs, JSON/XML, or system integrations.
Background in academic research, public health, or clinical trials.
