We are seeking a talented individual to join our Risk and Compliance team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based anywhere in Australia. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Senior Manager, Culture & Training

The primary responsibility of the role is to oversee the operation of the MMC’s Board Approved Risk Culture Framework for each participating Pacific entity. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME), the incumbent will play a critical role in driving the enhancement and uplift of organisational processes to enhance risk culture behaviours, such as reward, performance, and business decisions frameworks.

We will count on you to:

Oversight of MMC Pacific Risk Culture

Design and implement a comprehensive risk culture development strategy across the MMC Pacific entities (including investments, superannuation, insurance, consulting and functional areas), promoting a proactive approach to risk management.
Design and implement a MMC Pacific tool and/or reporting dashboards for annual risk culture assessments and tri-annual effectiveness review, including reporting
Develop a three-year strategic roadmap and plan to transform risk culture across MMC Pacific.
Provide expert input into Risk Culture Frameworks and maturity practices to mature the quality of Risk Culture Management practices.
Partner with Line 1, and People and Culture for alignment of risk culture to other organisational frameworks.
Actively contribute to the development of frameworks, tools, systems and processes required for the business to effectively transform risk culture.
Review industry developments and consider impacts on the risk culture.
Training, Education and Learning

Develop, coordinate and oversee the delivery of tailored training and education programs that enhance risk awareness and compliance knowledge among employees at all levels across MMC, ensuring that employees are equipped to identify and manage risks effectively, and maintaining alignment with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
Design and roll-out risk culture Learning Sessions and People Leader training workshops on risk culture across all MMC Pacific entities.
Implement and manage a central repository for risk and compliance content made available to the business
Conduct an annual review of all employee learning artefacts and processes.
Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of culture and training initiatives, including participant feedback, knowledge retention, and changes in risk-related behaviours, aiming for continuous improvement
Work closely with key stakeholders, including Pacific Leadership team, senior leadership, Risk and Compliance teams and Risk Line 1 teams, to ensure that culture and training initiatives are integrated into broader risk management and compliance frameworks.
What you need to have:

Experience working in a governance, regulatory compliance or legal areas with experience in Australia, New Zealand or United Kingdom.
Experience working in or providing services to a regulated financial services business, with an ability to interpret and apply associated legislative requirements.
Sound understanding and ability to operate within Legal, Risk and Compliance frameworks, including the ability to consider compliance strategically and take a commercial approach to compliance when required.
Ability to provide value-add, strategic advice to the Business, senior executives and Board stakeholders in respect of risk culture behaviours and consequence, controls, process and administrative matters.
Risk Management systems, frameworks and processes
Compliance systems, frameworks and processes
Regulatory and legislative environments, principles and practices
Local regulatory agencies and entities (e.g., APRA and ASIC), as well as other international entities.
Strong written and verbal communication, with foundation capability of operating with Senior Executives, Boards and Director.
Strong technical skills in Risk Culture Management
Ability to analyse and communicate complex matters in a commercially sensible way.
Ability to manage deliverables with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
Contributes to the overall risk profile of the Group and makes necessary adjustments as required for each business unit.
Good organisational skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines.
Makes sound recommendations based on analysis and findings in reporting.
Uses available technology to improve practices and own productivity.
