Job Title: ServiceNow Application Developer
What You’ll Do As a ServiceNow Application Developer, you will be responsible for end-to-end design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable and high-performing solutions on the ServiceNow platform. You will collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and fellow developers to ensure smooth delivery of business-critical features.
Key Responsibilities:1. Understanding Domain, Business, and Requirements
Understand end-user use cases and how customers interact with the product.
Collaborate with product managers, clients, and end-users to gather and validate requirements.
Analyze and break down business requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.
2. Coding and Development
Understand and contribute to the system architecture, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.
Choose appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
Develop efficient, scalable, and maintainable code aligned with best practices.
Create system documentation, diagrams, and user guides.
Ensure the application performs optimally under increasing load and complexity.
3. Testing
Perform unit testing to validate individual components.
Conduct integration testing to ensure modules work seamlessly together.
Debug and resolve defects promptly.
4. Deployment
Prepare production-ready builds and deployment packages.
Monitor system performance post-deployment and address any issues quickly.
5. Maintenance
Resolve bugs and issues reported by users.
Deliver enhancements and new features based on evolving business needs.
6. Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, and design.
Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders.
Mentor and support junior developers.
7. Learning and Upskilling
Stay current with the latest ServiceNow capabilities, tools, and trends.
Experiment with new methods and features to drive innovation and efficiency.
8. Escalation & Problem Management
Manage and participate in escalations during technical or production issues.
Perform trend and root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues.
What You Need to Bring
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience).
5–7 years of experience in application development on the ServiceNow platform.
Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on expertise in ServiceNow modules: ITSM, SPM, and CSM.
Experience with CMDB implementation.
Proficient in Integration Hub, UI Builder, and Service Portal.
Solid web development skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Proven experience with server-side scripts: Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Actions, and client-side scripting.
Hands-on with Workflows, Flows, Data Sources & Transform Maps, Database Views.
Experience integrating ServiceNow with other systems using REST/SOAP APIs.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Willingness to mentor others and contribute to a knowledge-sharing culture.
