Summary Description
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and special financial reports.
Essential Functions
Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.
Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within limits.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
Heavily involved in preparation of internal and external financial reports (call reports, SEC filings, management reports etc.).
Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or CPA candidate preferred
Three (3) to five (5) years in accounting or finance, with 2-3 years of public accounting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Work is generally performed indoors in environmentally controlled conditions
Typically the employee may sit to perform the work. However there may be some standing, walking, bending and carrying of light items in the course of the work
