Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support core accounting functions, including bank reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working with multiple teams to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
Location: This position may be based out of one of our core offices in South Bend, Fort Wayne, or Indianapolis, Indiana, or Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Cash Management: Monitor and record cash flow transactions, ensuring balances are accurate and up to date.
Journal Entries: Prepare entries for reclassifications and accruals to ensure proper allocation of expenses and revenues.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Ad Hoc Projects: Provide support for special projects, financial analysis, and reporting as assigned.
Communication: Maintain consistent and professional communication across teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Minimum of two years of professional accounting experience, with experience in real estate or property management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
Preferences
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
