Full job description
At ENGIE, great adventures always start with a simple "hello" and the desire to take action for tomorrow. If, like us, you strongly believe the energy transition holds opportunities for you and for everyone, then look no further, you belong with us!
Our goal is to be the best energy transition utility, and we have an ambition to reach net zero emissions by 2045. In Australia, this includes flexible power generation, energy retail services for homes and businesses, advanced energy management solutions, and a growing portfolio of future-focused projects — from hydrogen and battery storage to wind and solar developments.
We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to step into the role of Tax Compliance Lead for a 14-month contract (maternity leave cover).
You’ll ensure all tax compliance requirements for Australia are met accurately and efficiently. You’ll lodge Australian tax obligations, maintain accurate financial records, stay updated on changes in tax laws, and support the broader tax strategy of Engie.
This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your financial experience and lead tax compliance and reporting processes, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to ENGIE’s tax governance and planning across Australia.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Reporting
Manage the preparation and lodgement of all Australian tax compliance obligations (income tax, GST and FBT).
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders.

Provide insights on legislative changes and their business impact.
Financial & Operational
Contribute to statutory reporting, audits, and tax forecasting.
Collaborate with global tax teams on international reporting (e.g., CbC, Pillar 2).
Drive process improvements and tax automation initiatives.
Governance & Risk
Strengthen tax governance frameworks and policies.
Support internal and external audits and liaise with tax authorities.
Collaboration
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Provide training and guidance on tax matters across the business.
