Candidate Qualifications
Applicants should posses a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. Teaching experience is preferred. The successful applicant will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrate sound instructional practices and classroom management methods; have a genuine interest in helping students academically, emotionally, and socially; be successful in working with others and posses strong collaborative skills; be flexible and always contribute positively to the school environment inside and outside the classroom; and possess a genuine passion working with children and other staff members in an academically enriched school setting.
Position Responsibilities
Teacher responsibilities include: preparing relevant and purposeful lessons for teaching French in alignment with Ministry expectations and the school's comprehensive and challenging curriculum; applying innovative classroom management techniques; attending staff development activities and meetings; communicating students' progress to parents on an on-going basis and formally as required by the grade reporting protocol.
