Job Summary:

Progressive Technology is seeking a skilled and reliable Tempo Driver for our Goods Transport division in Coimbatore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the vehicle in good condition. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for driving and an eye for safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
• * Operate a tempo (light commercial vehicle) to transport goods efficiently and safely to various destinations within the region.
• * Ensure timely deliveries while adhering to the assigned route and delivery schedules.
• * Handle loading and unloading of goods as required, ensuring safety standards and proper handling.
• * Maintain a high standard of vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe working condition.
• * Comply with traffic laws and safety regulations at all times while driving.
• * Communicate effectively with the transport and logistics team to report any issues or delays.
• * Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups, including maintaining a logbook of work completed.
• * Provide excellent customer service by handling goods responsibly and ensuring customer satisfaction upon delivery.
• Required Skills and Qualifications:
• * Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
• * Previous experience as a Tempo driver or in goods transportation is preferred.
• * Knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
• * Ability to lift and carry heavy items as required for loading/unloading.
• * Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• * Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• * Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Experience:
• * At least 1-2 years of experience in driving a tempo or similar light commercial vehicle.
• * Previous experience in goods transportation or delivery roles is an advantage.
• * Proven track record of safe driving with a clean driving record.
• Working Hours:
• * Full-time position.
• * Monday to Saturday (+ AM to 6 PM).
• * Flexibility in working hours may be required depending on the delivery schedule.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• * Excellent driving skills with the ability to navigate in various conditions.
• * Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• * Familiarity with the local roads and geography of Coimbatore.
• * Ability to manage minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
• * Customer-focused with a strong sense of responsibility.
