The Brandon School Division strives to enable each student to achieve maximum intellectual, emotional, social and physical growth. The successful applicant to the position of Vice-Principal will provide significant leadership as an educational leader of learning in a “learning community of schools” in accordance with the requirements of The Role of the Vice-Principal.
Educational Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree in Education.
Graduate Degree in Education or related field.
Expectation that School Leadership Certification be completed within five years.
Experiential Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of exemplary teaching experience, preferably at the senior years level.
Demonstrated leadership expertise and experience in educational change for the improvement of individual student success recognizing student growth and achievement be provided the highest priority in student-centered classrooms.
Demonstrated expertise and experience in quantitative and qualitative measurement, evaluation and research practices and an understanding as to how these support the development of a school’s vision, mission and its learning beliefs.
Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate school-based development within a multi-program school setting.
Strong instructional knowledge base and administrative technological skills to support the development of the school’s master timetable within a multi-program school setting.
Experience in a multi-cultural learning environment.
Demonstrated experience in promoting and sustaining a collaborative school culture in which unique needs and diversity are respected, integrated and celebrated.
Strong commitment to maintaining a safe and positive school environment.
Strong time management and organizational skills that demonstrate self-motivation and initiative.
Ability to promote positive attitudes in students and staff toward self, others, school, education and the school community.
