This position will assist in the reporting process of the Eastern division for Medicare. Primary focus will be on capitation accruals/payments, and other provider details.
+ The Accountant prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
+ Provides financial support, including forecasting, budgeting and analyzing variations from budget.
+ Analyzes and prepares statutory accounts, financial statements and reports. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
+ Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree
+ 1 - 5 years of accounting experience
+ 1 - 5 years Excel (ability to create pivot tables, work with large data sets)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Business Administration or Master's Degree in Accounting
+ Certified Public Accountant license
+ Prior experience in public or corporate accounting
+ Strong technical accounting skills
+ Access
+ Basic SQL experience (running queries)
Additional Information
Ideally candidates will reside within a commutable distance to Louisville, KY (location of Humana corporate headquarters). This position has a hybrid office/home schedule with days in the office location in Louisville, KY. Will consider qualified candidates residing in other states as a remote work opportunity.

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$57,700 - $79,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
