Pakn’Save Mill Street is a thriving and customer-focused supermarket dedicated to providing high-quality products and exceptional service to our community. With a strong commitment to convenience and affordability, we have become a trusted destination for everyday shopping needs.
We are seeking a full-time dynamic and experienced Bakery 2IC (Second-in-Command) to join our team. As the 2IC, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Bakery Manager in the day-to-day operations of our Bakery department. You'll contribute to delivering a positive shopping experience for our customers while ensuring operational excellence in the Bakery section.
As Bakery Assistant Manager (2IC) you will:
Collaborate closely with the Bakery Manager to oversee the Bakery department's operations, including inventory management, staff supervision.
Provide leadership and support to the Bakery department team members, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and teamwork.
Assist in recruiting, training, and scheduling Bakery department staff as needed.
Monitor Bakery inventory levels, assist with ordering, and ensure product availability and freshness.
Manage Bakery department merchandising and ensure that Bakery displays are attractive and well-stocked.
Provide a high level of customer service, handle customer inquiries and concerns regarding Bakery products in a professional and friendly manner.
Food Safety, you will need to be able to follow our Food Safety plan You will need to complete all required paperwork and follow all of the procedures included in the plan
Housekeeping will be a big part of this role; our bakery department needs to be kept in a clean and hygienic state at all times
Assist with administrative tasks and reporting related to the Bakery department.
What we are looking for:
This role will ideally suit someone who is a qualified baker or has experience in the bakery industry and who has previously been in a supervisory/management position.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high Bakery department standards.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and customer-oriented environment.
Sound knowledge of computer skills.
Physically fit and able to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Availability to work flexible hours, early mornings, evenings and a weekend day.
