Our growing client is seeking a cost accountant to join their team. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. What you get to do every day
• Create reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services
• Take physical inventory and review the cycle count program
• Generate and complete internal cost audits
• Collect data and plan projects to decide costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
• Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Recommend costs and cost savings based on analysis
• Make estimates of new and proposed product costs
• Assist in audits and general ledger preparation
• Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost
• Prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and analyze manufacturing costs
• Conduct variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
• Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants
• Design a cost accounting system, and manage the documents and records of the organization- Analyze the data collected and log a detailed record of the results

Requirements
• Experience utilizing cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
• 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
• Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
• Competence with financial data analysis and report generation that is prompt and accurate
• Experience working with organizational accounting concepts
• Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
