About the role
Gilroy Santa Maria College, Ingham is seeking an experienced and dedicated Emerging Leaders Coordinator and/or Assiting Student Learning officer. This is a term time, permanent position completing 18-30 hours per week.
The primary purpose of the Emerging Leaders Coordinator is to work in collaboration with teachers to provide appropriate advice, practical support and guidance to assist Indigenous students with learning and development. This role also provides quality, timely and efficient coordination and administration support to the Emerging Leaders Project. The Emerging Leaders Coordinator works under the guidance of the College Principal, Emerging Leaders Project Officer and Indigenous Education Advisers to provide assistance to Indigenous students to optimise student learning outcomes in a supported environment with a range of cultural and educational programs.
The role holder will be required to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality in the performance of all duties and the ability to prioritise the work demands of the college and the Emerging Leaders Project.
About You
Experience
Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the learning needs of First Nations students
Ability to provide information and support to stakeholders regarding First Nations communities
Demonstrated experience in an operational/administrative support position, preferably within a corporate services function, with the provision of focused professional, administrative and secretariat support at a high level
Advanced knowledge of office procedures and practices with the ability to identify and implement improvements
Experience and proficiency in the use of Google and Microsoft Office Suites at an advanced level
Demonstrated experience of contemporary office procedures and practices with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
Skills
Understanding and ability to develop links between the school and First Nations communities
Demonstrated knowledge of meeting procedures and planning
Conference and event organisation and associated protocols including catering and travel logistics
Knowledge of record management systems
Ability to exercise discretion and judgement whilst achieving outcomes within time constraints.
Attributes
Supports productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently
Ability to organise work, manage own time to meet deadlines, and be adaptable in response to changing priorities
High level of attention to detail and recognition of the importance of accuracy in all aspects of the work

Mandatory Criteria
Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government.
Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
Current Driver’s Licence
Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria
Certificate IV in Business Administration
Knowledge and experience of First Nations culture, and the unique challenges faced by First Nations Students
Previous experience in the education field would be considered advantageous.
