Interprets job work orders and follows blueprints / schematics to perform required repairs
Utilizes basic mechanical skills and builds knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge
Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks
Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies
Ensures AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met
Completes any other duties as assigned in order to complete the task

Experienced Railcar Repair Technician

Donaldsonville, LA

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, straight days, 8 hour shifts

Pay Range: $26.00 - $28.00 an hour depending on experience

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Interprets job work orders and follows blueprints / schematics to perform required repairs
• Utilizes basic mechanical skills and builds knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge
• Notifies of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks
• Follows all safety rules, keeps work area clean and complies with all ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies
• Ensures AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met
• Completes any other duties as assigned in order to complete the task

Job Qualifications:
• Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
• May require a valid Driver’s License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
• 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
• Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
• Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
