Job Description
We are seeking a UK-based Financial Manager to take ownership of all financial operations. This is a remote role requiring high levels of independence, professionalism, and strategic insight. You will manage project-based financials, ensure regulatory compliance, and support leadership with financial planning and reporting across multiple international ventures.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles
Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
Lead financial oversight of UKRI and EU-funded research projects
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, project officers, and regulatory bodies
Manage banking relationships, company accounts, and outgoing payments
Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and international standards
Deliver financial analysis to inform strategic and operational decision-making
Candidate Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
CPA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management
Experience with financial administration of UKRI/EU-funded projects
Strong understanding of UK tax, accounting, and reporting standards
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Proficiency in financial software and Excel; ERP system experience is a plus
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
