Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with the ability to work on various projects mostly in commercial and multifamily residential construction. This role requires expertise in reading and interpreting construction drawings, using power tools, performing heavy lifting, and executing precise measurements and cuts. Responsibilities
Concrete formwork using primarily single and double waler form systems for foundations and other structural elements, gang forms in some situations
Installation and removal of falsework for suspended slab construction
Wood framing and sheathing using lumber, plywood, glu-lam and timber framing.
Work as a part of a team, utilizing apprentices and labourers to help complete tasks.
Working with crane operators to install panels, beams, and large structural components
Operate power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
Operate scissor lifts, man lifts, telehandlers as needed, training and certification provided.
Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project completion.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Working at heights, fall protection certification training provided.
Requirements
Proven experience as a carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
Proficiency in concrete forming techniques and construction estimating.
Strong skills in using power tools and hand tools effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the workday.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and technical documents accurately.
