Full job description
We’re looking for a Lead Accountant to ensure that local entities maintain an effective accounting framework and internal controls for compliance with local laws, regulations, US-GAAP and corporate policies.
Reporting to the Director, Country Controller of UK & Ireland, you will manage local tax and statutory filings audits, payroll processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with EPAM Global Shared Services Centre (SSC) teams, leveraging internal and external resources as needed and overseeing all financial activities for the entity.
Responsibilities
Ensure accurate accounting under Local GAAP and US-GAAP, SOX compliance and timely reconciliations
Coordinate with SSC teams to address accounting issues and update policies based on legislative changes
Manage archiving processes to comply with local regulations and provide records to authorities
Oversee statutory and corporate audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with deadlines
Prepare statutory-to-US-GAAP reconciliations and ensure accuracy of local filings
Ensure local tax compliance, manage returns, audits and communicate regulatory changes impacting SSC processes
Oversee payroll operations, ensuring legal compliance, accuracy and SOX alignment, including tax handling for stock-based compensation
Support budgeting, expense recognition and financial performance monitoring with FP&A and budget holders
Manage finance integration for acquisitions and lead financial setup for new entities, including bank accounts and compliance
Requirements
Considerable experience in accounting under both Local GAAP and US-GAAP
Strong knowledge of tax regulations, statutory requirements and internal controls
Experience managing payroll processes and ensuring SOX-compliance workflows
Ability to coordinate financial reporting, monitor legislative changes and implement corporate policies efficiently
Strong collaboration and leadership skills to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., SSC, FP&A, treasury)
Nice to have
Experience in integrating acquired entities into a legal entity and managing financial processes during mergers or acquisitions
Familiarity with the setup of new entities, including finance operations, local standards and banking relationships
Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and optimize processes for efficiency
