Responsibilities
You'll assist with the preparation of legal documents, and handle all office correspondence including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails, phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, Binder prep, picking up the mail, preparing welcome boxes, keeping attorney's abreast of their scheduled court appearances as far as ensuring zoom links are calendared if appearances are on zoom, open and close files, reminding the team of upcoming deadlines
Undertake other duties as needed to ensure the firm operates efficiently
Open and close client files
Filing for case files
Filing legal documents with the Courts
Send welcome packets to new clients when asked
Update client information in our case management system
Send appropriate cards/gifts to current clients; and
Other tasks as assigned
This position is a mix of working in the office and running errands, and we anticipate that this position will begin at approximately 35-40 hours/week and has the potential to become full-time

Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department
Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary

Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals

• We are a small but fully staffed law firm with three Attorneys, a case manager, three paralegals, a client impression expert, two directors of client engagement, and a billing specialist. As the Legal Office Assistant, you are here to be the go-to person for office assistance.
