Impact and Influence of Position

Our communications and marketing initiatives impact the association’s influence on those inside and outside of the hospitality industry, as they execute variety of assets for the Oklahoma Restaurant Association and its managed associations including the Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation, Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association, and the Oklahoma Travel Industry Association. For each of the associations, we manage four websites, two e-News, multiple social media sites, texting service, and one industry magazine.

Role in the Association

Our Manager, Marketing & Communications plays a very important role as a two-person team who manages member outreach and messaging. This team member must also excel at event execution where member registration and marketing are concerned. Engagement with our members is an essential function of this position and requires contact with members by phone, digitally, and in person at events. Professional events with great experiences for members are the goal, and this position plays an important role in preparing for and executing successful events. This includes graphic design, digital marketing and e-communications. Their responsibilities interface with our AMS system and websites which engage members, so they will also assist in expanding and advancing its technology to better serve our members.

This manager also provides support for content gathering for the Oklahoma Restaurateur Magazine.

Essential Responsibilities

Communications and Marketing-

· Develop, implement, and manage the association’s overall marketing plan

· Collaborate on and manage annual marketing calendars for e-news, magazines, social media, and advertising

· Develop creative graphic design, targeted, and impactful messaging to strengthen the association’s brand and communications

· Write and distribute press releases that strengthen the association’s visibility and credibility

· Monitor and analyze communication performance metrics and analytics

· Oversee occasional advertising sales opportunities

Content and Publications-

· Serve as web content specialist by developing accurate, relevant, and engaging copy that

· promotes the association’s brand and supports member resource objectives

· Design and execute social media content to grow engagement and visibility

· Manage registration and content within the Personify AMS platform, ensuring effective website integration

· Provide support to the Chief Strategy Officer as needed

· Assist with phones when needed

Event Support-

· Collaborate closely with the Events Team to ensure member engagement and successful event execution

· Initiate and manage event registration and specialized online forms through the AMS system

· Support event functions through shared responsibilities, including registration, badge preparation, and reporting on revenue and attendance.

· Track and evaluate historical event registration data to inform future planning

General-

· Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the association

Technical Skills Desired

· Proven graphic design skills

· Excellent grammar and professional written and verbal communication skills

· 1 or more years web content management

· Knowledge of Association Management System (AMS) platform linked to websites

· Strong Canva skills

· Adobe Creative Cloud Experience including InDesign, Photoshop

· After-Effects, Acrobat, and Adobe Audition is a plus.

· Some experience with events

· MacBook experience and Microsoft Office

· Experience in Survey Monkey, Submittable and GiveSmart is a plus, but not mandatory

A Successful Candidate will possess

· Above-average technical skills and experience

· Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, organized and attention to detail

· Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills

· Engage to learn and remain informed of association initiatives and industry issues

· Provide support for other association activities as needed

· Self-starter with the ability to work independently, yet collaborate with and support a team

-Engage across departments

· Ability to set project timelines, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities

· Highly motivated, and enthusiastic about serving association members

· Basic understanding of the hospitality industry

Education & Technical Skills Desired

· Degree in graphic design, marketing or an equivalent with min. 2 years of professional work experience in the area of the degree

· Microsoft Office / Excel / Outlook / Sharepoint / Planner

· Web management

· Canva

· MailChimp

· Texting

· Claris Filemaker Pro

· Adobe Creative Suite

· AI technology

Benefits

· Salary range $47,000-$50,000 – based on experience

· Personal Time

o Six paid personal/sick leave days per year (accrues 1/2 day per month).

o Seven paid holidays which include: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day. Two days at Thanksgiving, & Christmas.

o Ten days paid vacation after one year of full-time employment, 15 days paid vacation after five years of full- time employment, 20 days paid vacation after 10 years employment.
