The role
As a Project Accountant, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be an integral member of the team in a dynamic role responsible for improving the accuracy and visibility of lifecycle reporting for Cavendish and its stakeholders within a Nuclear Defence Support programme.
Day-to-day, you’ll be leading the financial elements for the projects within the programme and also working with the central finance function to provide financial reporting, covering margins, tracking forecasting, cashflow, producing project reports, such as management accounts, budget change, costs, margin, accruals and journals.
EAC review & consolidation at project level – including down to net profit
Oversight of monthly supply chain cost accruals/VOWD and revenue recognition process
Creating accurate financial forecasts based on project status and historical data
Manage the invoicing process for the project and track payments from customers
Develop/implement and maintain the Project Baseline Budgets including Control Account Plans/Responsibility Assignment Matrix and WBS Dictionary (SOW).
Management and control of cost risk budget and drawdown and input into the risk management process.
Responsible for the monitor, control and validation of project’s accruals and commitments and the control of resource and financial forecast data.
Management and control of financial change management on the project and assurance of alignment with the business/contractual requirements.
Provision of internal and external financial performance & cost reports including earned value and variation analysis.
This role is full time, thirty-seven hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with two-three days in the office/onsite and three-two days working from home.
Essential experience of the Project Accountant
Good understanding of project controls function and ability to interact well with cost engineers, planners, Quantity Surveyor, Project Controls Manager
Experience of working in a team delivering large complex programmes, preferably nuclear and other sectors such as Oil and Gas, Construction.
Experience managing cost-related output from project controls teams within a project
SAP experience is highly desirable
Qualifications for the Project Accountant
CIMA Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience post qualified
ACA or ACCA considered
Security Clearance
