Our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Reward team plays a key role in attracting and retaining great people. We do this by designing inclusive DE&I and remuneration frameworks that connect Auckland Council’s vision with the people who bring it to life.


We’re looking for a Reward Consultant to join our team. In this role, you’ll support and advise on equitable, effective remuneration practices across the organisation. You’ll contribute to continuous improvement, lead analysis, and support key processes — including job evaluations, annual pay reviews, and recognition programmes.


You'll work with a wide range of stakeholders. You’ll help ensure our remuneration framework meets the needs of both our people and our organisation. Other responsibilities include coordinating and supporting with remuneration review processes, for our collective agreements, supporting our Chief Executive Recognition Awards, liaising and partnering with our benefits providers and more.

You’re a strong communicator. You enjoy working with people and data. You’re comfortable juggling multiple tasks with attention to detail. You bring a customer-focused mindset to everything you do.


You’ll bring:

Advanced Excel and data modelling skills
The ability to pick up new systems quickly (experience with SAP or SuccessFactors is a bonus)
Experience with job evaluation, remuneration frameworks, or HR analytics
Strong organisation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
A commitment to equity, fairness, and continuous improvement

Hours: Full-time, hybrid working (3 days office). Although we are advertising this role as full-time, we welcome applicants who wish to work on a part-time and/or job-share basis. The nature of this role means it cannot be worked on a fully remote basis.
