Senior Energy Advisor

Join the team at Sydney Water as a Senior Energy Advisor! Based at our Potts Hill office, make a real difference to our environmental and business outcomes by driving energy efficiency programs, developing energy strategy and managing our energy supply contracts - changing the way we purchase power.

Your day-to-day:

Contract Management: Monitor and optimize Sydney Water's electricity and energy supply contracts to enhance financial outcomes and minimize risks.
Program Development: Analyse and contribute to the development and implementation of energy efficiency, carbon net zero, demand management, and information systems.
Expert Advice: Provide expert analysis and advice on energy management, including regulatory compliance, strategy, and planning to improve business, customer, and environmental results.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards and legislative requirements, including managing certifications, approvals, licenses, permits, auditing, and reporting.
Advisory Services: Apply established procedures and processes to offer energy management advice, set priorities, and manage workload effectively.
Stakeholder Relations: Foster strong stakeholder relationships, resolve complex issues, and represent Sydney Water at industry bodies while promoting our achievements.
About You:

7 years’ experience in the management of natural resources to inform service provision and infrastructure planning and delivery
Tertiary qualification in Business, Natural Resource, Environmental Management, Energy Engineering, Resource Economics, Science or a related discipline
Sound knowledge of, and experience with major water utility and functions of water / wastewater treatment and pumping (or similar operating context)
Technical knowledge of, and experience in implementing, renewable energy generation technologies and energy conservation and greenhouse gas mitigation initiatives
