PM Group is an international project delivery company operating across Europe, the USA and Asia. We provide project management, process design, facility design, construction management, and commissioning and qualification services for our leading multinational clients.
At present, we are looking for a number of Senior ICT Design Engineers to join our Building Controls & ICT team. You will be supporting high scale projects designing ICT infrastructures in sectors like Data Centers, Pharmaceutical, Medical Technologies and many more. This role offers flexible working arrangements this includes working from different PM Group offices, and a blended work environment of remote working and in the head office.
Responsibilities
• Reporting to the Senior Project Management, Stakeholders, Clients and managing, coordinating and producing ICT designs.
• Reporting directly to the Department Line Manager on progress on all projects and status
• Analysing complex engineering problems and offer effective solutions.
• The development of scope documentation for FEED (Front End Engineering Design), concept and basis of design and detailed design documents is required. The ability to take the process right through all the detail design phases and the approval processes whilst communication with all stakeholders and other disciplines is paramount.
• Liaise with all disciplines and management through the project to assure all ICT standards are compliant and adhered to in design documentation and drawings, single line diagrams and the room layouts and are correctly modelled in.
• Providing support to fee and capital budget proposals as required. Support the Management team in cost estimation and tender bid evaluations, the development of bill of materials and cost estimates.
• Assembling and managing bid, approval, and construction issue of ICT packages in an efficient and lean manner.
• Attending and participating in client and PM Group meetings. Chairing ICT meetings with all the relevant stakeholders, contractors, design engineers and Client interface colleagues
• Producing up to date ICT Designs to incorporate the following systems:
• Containment Pathways Primary & Secondary Routes, and types of containment
• Tiered Containment systems and understanding of parameters for distance segregation etc.
• Copper & Fibre Cabling - Knowledge of all ISP & OSP solutions and latest market infrastructure available and best suited to Clients budget and requirements.
• Racks - Open Racks/ Enclosed/ Pod Configurations
• ICT Room Design - stick built and Modular designs.
• Wireless (ROIP, DAS, WIFI, DECT, RF)
• LANs - Business & Corporate VLANs, Shop Floor networks and all associated VLANs, Security Networks, BAS VLANs, AV Networks, Wireless Networks including Predictive heat map models and post site surveys.
• Power, Cooling & Earthing
• Fire Stopping & Suppression
• MDF/IDF/POE design philosophies and requirements as per industry standards and Client standard requirements.
• Participate with Revit/BIM360 modelling of modular data centres, MDFs, IDFs etc. assuring all ICT criteria are followed and provide guidance to other engineering disciplines the client requirements.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to prepare written specifications and contract documents.
• Supporting the project through its lifecycle from concept to construction support, this includes site visits.
• Development of commissioning processes for all ICT systems with the Commissioning, Quality, and Validation (CQV) Teams.
• Participation in Factory acceptance testing and Site acceptance testing for ICT systems.
• ICT system walk downs and generation of ICT punch lists working alongside CQV. Assuring all open items are closed out and signed off prior to hand over to Client.
• Strong awareness of telecommunications industry standards (American & European) is essential.
• Have professional approach and demeanour. A strong ethical approach to safety, quality, environmental protection and business.
• Mentoring and development of Junior Engineers on the team
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Engineering degree or equivalent desirable.
• 10-15+ years of formal experience in ICT engineering design and project management.
• Chartered or working towards it.
The following are also preferable, but not essential -
• RCDD Certified
• CNET Certified (CDCDP, CNIDP)
• Ability to work with-in BIM environment (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD)
