Senior Marketing Executive
Position Purpose: The purpose of this role is to support growth in new student numbers and
enhance their experience of Massey in the student journey through
targeted marketing initiatives, as well as enhance Massey University’s
reputation by developing and executing engaging marketing
communications to multiple target audiences across a wide range of
media channels and platforms, for domestic and international markets.

About this area The Marketing function forms part of the broader Marketing,
Recruitment and Alumni directorate within the service line of the Deputy
Vice-Chancellor Students and Global Engagement.

Accountabilities
Marketing Projects • Develop and execute marketing plans which are in line with the
University strategy and Te Tiriti goals
Manage multi-channel projects for domestic and international markets
– including digital, direct, social, event, web, content marketing and
marketing automation.
Provide marketing expertise, consultation and recommendations for
multi-channel projects for your allocated portfolios ensuring a
proactive approach is taken with stakeholders around planned
marketing activity.
Foster internal engagement for the Massey brand.
Remain up-to-date and current with developments across all
marketing related areas of responsibility.
Manage the allocated project budgets to ensure all projects are
delivered on budget every time.
Identify and report on KPI's, and opportunities for improvement on a
regular basis.
Marketing • Write creative communication and messaging content for various
Communications audiences across advertising, student communication, web content
and marketing projects.
Use marketing analytics to inform marketing communication strategies
across print, web, digital and online.
Support and work with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the
success of marketing projects.
Identify internal and external content that contributes to our content
marketing strategy.

Customer Experience • Support the design and delivery of the full end to end student lifecycle
and Relationships working as part of the wider Massey team to ensure that the
prospective student’s experience joins up with the ideal student
experience.
Work closely with the marketing and Massey CRM team on the
creation, messaging and eDM content to support an engaging
customer journey whilst delivering an elevated, consistent and
efficient brand experience.
Brand Activation • Ensure consistency of the Massey brand across all marketing projects.
Support the promotion internally of the brand values to the target
audience in a manner that reinforces Massey’s brand positioning.
Stakeholder • Build and maintain meaningful relationships across the University.
Communications • Ensure effective communication with key internal and external
stakeholders.
Partner and consult with stakeholders in the process of delivering all
multi-channel projects to ensure their perspectives are integrated and
support is gained.
Ensure an exceptional customer delivery service to stakeholders,
responding to and advising in a timely manner.
Collaborative team • Execute other tasks as requested by the Associate Director Marketing.

Work collaboratively to continuously improve our marketing practices
and processes.
Provide back up to team members where appropriate to balance
workload priorities and manage leave.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification in marketing or equivalent experience in
marketing is essential
Experience: • 5+ years’ experience as a marketing professional managing
integrated marketing projects You may currently be in a marketing
environment, have worked in the education sector, or a large
complex organisation.
Strong experience with messaging and marketing communication
across digital, social media, content marketing, publications, and
marketing automation
Proven experience working across cultures and sensitive to cultural
differences
Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi highly beneficial

Proven experience at building strong collaborative working
relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies
International experience in the education sector beneficial but not
essential.
