Job Description . Candidate should have knowledge in Solaris, Linux System Administration, Certification preferred Solaris/Linux System Administration proficiencies, including knowledge of NIS/NFS/DNS and SAN implementations in large shops Strong troubleshooting and scripting skills required, Solaris, Linux, Veritas Volume Manager, OS provisioning tools (Blade logic & Tivoli a plus) , SAN, Network Appliance Filers, ITSM Remedy Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be able to articulate Patching cause and be able to explain the issues and the solutions and work with customer to schedule remediation. Responsibilities . To provide 16 X 7 supports for the Unix Deployments and the role is expected to have the following Support role working with the Linux and Solaris OS. Remediation of all Critical and Important Baseline Security Compliance Issues like ESM remedation. Fair Knowledge in Linux Operating system, services & utilities like NFS/AutoFS, Samba, NTP etc All Critical Compliance Issues will be remediated within the mandated timeframes Knowledge on UNIX shell scripting. File system management and recovery. Knowledge of the technology specific baseline security requirements Verifying that remediation occurred on compliance issues LVM management, Veritas volume manager & Veritas Cluster Work closely with peers under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned analysts and documented processes Ability to coordinate and execute multiple tasks within a fast paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills required Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
