We are seeking a skilled, driven, committed and passionate person to work as our Marketing and Communications Manager within our International Headquarters Office in Burnaby, BC. We are looking for someone who desires to use their skills to make a difference and resonates with Ratanak International's vision, mission and values in serving Cambodia.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Development and Communications Director, the Marketing and Communications Manager will serve as a creative and watchful eye over Ratanak International’s outgoing marketing and communications. This includes helping to draft and execute key strategies and making sure that Ratanak International’s Brand Standards and marketing and communications strategies are being effectively implemented and evaluated on a regular basis. This role is also responsible for creating or managing the creation of Ratanak International’s key marketing content including directly writing and editing copy, creating graphic design elements for various projects, ongoing social media content, basic website upkeep and basic video projects. Ratanak International currently contracts a specialized marketing firm to create some of our digital and print marketing materials such as our quarterly newsletters and various appeal campaigns. This role will be the primary liaison with our contracted marketing firm as well as other various external contractors.

Primary Objectives:

1. Ratanak International’s Annual Marketing and Communications Plan is effectively executed, and results are evaluated on a regular basis.

2. Creative, clear and consistent content is crafted to support Ratanak International’s communications needs such as written copy, graphic design elements, video content, social media posts and website updates.

3. The Development and Communications Director is supported in the development of Ratanak International’s Brand Standards and Annual Marketing and Communications Plan.

4. Ratanak International’s mission, vision, values, key messaging and Brand standards are consistently communicated throughout the organization’s variety of public engagement initiatives.

5. Ratanak International’s marketing contractors are effectively managed to produce timely and high-quality communications materials through excellent relationship management, meaningful and relevant content sourcing and highly organized deliverables management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Communications Management - Ratanak International’s Annual Marketing and Communications Plan is effectively executed and results are evaluated on a regular basis. (Primary Objective #1):

Manages the day-to-day execution of the Annual Marketing and Communications Plan by ensuring that the annual plan is being implemented effectively and on schedule.
Keeps consistently informed regarding activity/stories from Ratanak International’s projects and partners through effective coordination with communications staff in the Cambodia Field Office, functioning as the organization’s informational “triage” - advising on appropriate content for promotions, updates, donor appreciation and awareness initiatives.
Tracks and analyzes results from marketing campaigns to better understand donor behavior and campaign effectiveness in order to make strategic changes as necessary.
Content Creation Management - Creative, clear and consistent content is crafted to support Ratanak International’s communications needs such as written copy, graphic design elements, video content, social media posts and website updates. (Primary Objective #2):

Supervises the Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure timely and on-brand execution of campaigns and communications
Manages the creation of various communication initiatives, including marketing materials, articles, event promotion, news releases, internal updates, crisis communications, prayer bulletins, donor thank you letters and consultation on copy for grant applications as needed etc.
Manages the creation of graphic design elements for various print and digital projects.
Oversees editing and ensures accuracy of digital and print communications.
Manages Ratanak International’s social media accounts and calendar:
Creates regular content for social media channels with compelling and on-brand media and messaging that is security and sensitivity checked.
Monitors social media channels to ensure any posted dialogue is appropriate and directly responds to external messages.
Manage basic video projects are created, edited and uploaded to various platforms.
Manages and updates the content of Ratanak International’s websites.
Creates and edits copy for the various sections of the websites, ensuring dynamic sections of Ratanak International’s websites are up to date.
Manages Ratanak International’s digital advertising campaigns.
Brand Standards - The Development and Communications Director is supported in the development of Ratanak International’s Brand Standards and Annual Marketing and Communications Plan (Primary Objective #3):

Ensures that the Ratanak International brand is consistently implemented across all of Ratanak International’s public engagement initiatives.
Ensures that sensitivities and security issues are thoroughly considered in all publications where content involving vulnerable individuals are featured.
Planning Support - Ratanak International’s mission, vision, values, key messaging and Brand standards are consistently communicated throughout the organization’s variety of public engagement initiatives (Primary Objective #4):

Supports Directors in the drafting of the Annual Marketing and Communications Plan .
Supports Directors in the ongoing refinement of Ratanak International’s overall brand and manages usage of brand identity, specifically in the area of key messaging.
Contractor Management - Ratanak International’s marketing contractors are effectively managed to produce timely and high-quality communications materials through excellent relationship management, meaningful and relevant content sourcing and highly organized deliverables management (Primary Objective #5):

Liaises with Ratanak International’s external contractors such as our marketing agency, videographer, photographer, complex graphic designers and website developers. Supplies appropriate content, reviews drafts and manages deadlines throughout the production process.
Qualifications:

Required Education:

Completion of a post-secondary certificate, diploma, degree program in a relevant area is required (For example: Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or another related field).
Additional certificates, diplomas, or degree programs in a relevant area are an asset.
Required Experience:

A minimum of 3-5 years of employment experience in a marketing or communications-focused role.
Demonstrated knowledge in graphic design principles.
Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills, conveying professionalism, accuracy of information and diplomacy.
Demonstrated excellence in project management with a proven ability to plan, prioritize and achieve set goals and deadlines.
Strong knowledge in managing content on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
Demonstrated ability to practice discretion over sensitive information.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members or independently.
Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing situations and conditions and to work under pressure and to tight timelines.
Demonstrated ability to understand the ‘big picture’ while paying meticulous attention to the details of the role; and the ability to understand and integrate all aspects of the organizational culture into graphic design and copy creation.
Ability to work effectively in a faith-based organization and environment.
Not-for-profit experience is an asset.
Cross-cultural experience, international development experience or travel experience are assets.
Photography and videography/video-editing skills are assets.
Management experience an asset.
Computer Competencies:

Computer literacy with Mac and Windows platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Intermediate level skills with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop) and Canva.
Proficiency in the following would be an asset: Adobe Premiere, WordPress, Mailchimp, Web design, coding experience
Scheduling and Remuneration:

This is a full-time position (5-days per week, 40 hours per week), commencing September 2025. The gross salary range for this position is $62,450 - $72,328 per year (depending on education and experience) based on a workweek of 40 hours per week with access to a comprehensive group benefits package. Candidates must be comfortable with travel throughout the Greater Vancouver Area with periodic international travel for work purposes.
