Help shape the future of our stores – one design at a time.
At The Reject Shop, we’re growing fast – and we’re looking for a creative and organised Store Design Coordinator to join our Store Development team. In this role, you’ll support the design and documentation of new stores, helping us bring our brand to life in new communities across the country.
Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, you’ll play a key part in delivering store layouts that are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned to our low-cost operating model. If you have a background in retail design, know your way around Revit and AutoCAD, and love turning ideas into practical solutions – we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Supporting the design of new store layouts from concept to construction documentation
Coordinating consultants, contractors, and suppliers for store fit-outs and refurbishments
Creating and managing standard design documents (Revit preferred)
Conducting on-site audits and feasibility assessments
Collaborating with Property, Merchandise, and Store Operations to ensure designs are functional and aligned to business needs
Helping evolve our low-cost format through design innovation and continuous improvement
Assisting with refurbishments, relocations, and closures as part of broader development projects
What You’ll Bring:
Qualifications in Interior Design, Industrial Design, or Architecture
At least 2 years’ experience in retail design, including store layouts and fit-outs
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for creating technical drawings and layouts
Strong understanding of building materials, finishes, and compliance requirements
Knowledge of customer flow and store functionality within a retail environment
Confidence working with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office tools
Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills
Why Join Us:
Hybrid work model (3 days in our Kensington office / 2 days from home)
Be part of a national growth strategy shaping our future stores
A collaborative, down-to-earth team environment
Employee benefits including paid parental leave and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Team Member discount of 15% for you and an immediate family member
Structured development plans and training provided to support your career growth
Opportunity to work on impactful retail projects and expand your design portfolio
If you’re a design professional ready to make your mark on a leading Australian retailer, and help bring our store vision to life!
