He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga | About the role
Based in our National Office in Lower Hutt, this role is diverse and dynamic, ensuring no two days are the same. You'll be a valued team member, making a meaningful impact on our national workforce.
You will provide quality ER advice, guidance, and support to our people leaders across all business sectors, collaborating closely with two other ER Advisors.
In this role, you'll deepen your expertise in various specialist functions, from managing ER processes and disciplinaries to union engagement and bargaining.
You'll be recognized for your ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders, your discretion and judgment, and your positive coaching and development skills
Key Responsibilities include;
ER Advice: Provide accurate advice on ER/HR issues, manage performance and disciplinary processes, develop ER policies, grievances and mediation.
Secretariat for Union Engagement: Support union engagement, manage administrative systems, and provide bargaining support.
Projects: provide trusted advice, direction and support for key business projects aimed at supporting and enabling the organisation e.g. Diversity, Equity Inclusion and Belonging (DEI & B).
Policy Development and Guidance: Update policies, develop process maps and best practice guides in alignment with current laws and legislative changes.
Ngā tohungatanga mō tēnei tūranga | About you
You will have;
2-3 years+ experience in ER or Employment Law
a sound understanding of NZ employment legislation and best practice employment practice
experience with the provision of high-quality secretariat coordination and support
experience with drafting advice, legal submissions, development of policy, and project reporting
exceptional organisational and written communication skills
an ability to work collaboratively and independently
