Job description, work day and responsibilities
The purpose of the ICT Support Technician/Specialist Technician position is to be responsible for administration and maintenance of school network and ICT environments. In addition, identifying, escalating and managing issues through to resolution.
Fulltime, Part Time and Casual positions available
Work onsite in Victoria school environment as a technical specialist
Work autonomously with a strong mentoring program
Set hours Mon-Fri, no on-call, no weekend work
Responsibilities
Server and Network administration
Demonstrated networking knowledge, including but not limited to: VLAN, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP services
Experience in virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V and/or Citrix
Hands on configuration and troubleshooting of hardware like servers, firewalls, switches and wireless infrastructure is an advantage
Interpersonal skills & ability to explain technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels
General computer hardware and software support
Active Directory and Group Policy management and administration skills
Service Desk and end user device support
BYOD management and support
Cloud MDM Management and Configuration
Data Protection & Disaster recovery
Onsite/Cloud deployment including but not limited to Windows, Apple and Chrome OS
Technical document writing including instructional and training materials for leadership and users
Strategic ICT planning with school leadership
Maintenance of ICT network documentation
Qualifications
The successful candidate will require high level, advanced technical skills in:
Windows Server Technologies
Service and management of Windows and Apple devices
Network Administration
Relevant experience in an educational setting, along with knowledge of wireless deployment and Department initiatives.
Previous experience with planning, deployment and management of 1 to 1 user/devices in an enterprise environment.
Demonstrates the ability to plan and run ICT professional development sessions and work collaboratively with the Schools’ ICT Management.
Prior experience supporting Specialist Technicians in delivering projects
Personal attributes:
Motivated, self-starter - able to work autonomously, or as part of a team as the work dictates.
Resourceful - able to find and research information to derive appropriate solutions to problems.
A good communicator - able to clearly communicate using appropriate language to accommodate the stakeholder.
Ability to troubleshoot through systematic processes of observation and elimination.
The following attributes will be highly regarded:
Relevant experience in an educational setting, along with knowledge of wireless deployment and Department initiatives.
