Job Title: Marketing and Digital Media Coordinator
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Sr. Director, Marketing & PR
ROLE & LEVEL/GRADE: P2/4
SUMMARY : Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director of Marketing and PR, the Marketing and Digital Media Coordinator provides administrative assistance to the marketing team and supports the development and execution of marketing campaigns and public relations strategies. The position also collaborates with all communication efforts, including community management, content creation, and social media. The position represents the museum at onsite and offsite functions, maintains records and budgets, prepares presentations, and creates recaps for events, PR initiatives and marketing campaigns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with marketing staff to organize and execute marketing campaigns and PR strategies to increase attendance and participation, long-term growth, and communication of museum goals
Supports social media efforts, including community management, digital marketing campaigns and online accounts, including Facebook, X, Instagram, and TikTok
Supports the management of the museum’s website, electronic newsletter communications and digital mailing lists
Supports engagement with digital marketing agency and advertising partners including maintaining databases and organizing assets
Helps coordinate marketing events and program advertising, invitations, signage, collateral, promotional materials/merchandise, follow-up communications and recap reports
Operate and maintain promotional inventory by coordinating requirements with graphics department, inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
Assist in scheduling and coordination of filming that takes place at the museum
Helps administer media tours, onsite visits, and meetings
Support events with a large media presence
Assists in the organization of photography and videography for promotional/marketing events and develops content to be used across marketing campaigns including social media
Create recaps and reports for executive and board meetings with marketing and PR data
Organize and maintain the museum’s media assets and press reports/clips
Supervise volunteers and other support personnel
Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the museum
Perform other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, PR, or related field and at least two years of comparable experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.?
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to work in a team as well as be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create concise reports and budgets.
Adaptability and creativity
Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills
Must be extremely organized and diligent
Requires exacting attention to detail and excellent customer service whether in person or by other communication, including written and telephone
Excellence in English language (oral and written) required; preference for bilingual (English/Spanish)
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel; some experience in Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
