Exciting news, the PALM team are looking for a PALM Support Officer to join their team in this permanent full-time role. This is a true generalist, all rounder role, where no 2 days are ever the same. Reporting to the PALM Manager, the Support Officer will assist the PALM team to oversee and manage the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme program across the company’s 3 main processing facilities.
The PALM Support Officer role is unique. We like to think of ourselves as the pioneers in PALM recruitment, positively impacting on PALM worker’s lives, offering a supportive, fun and safe environment to work away from home to meet their goals and help fill workforce shortages.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role will include:
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with PALM scheme workers and aiding them to settle into the community.
In conjunction with the PALM Manager, ensuring our company complies with deed requirements as an approved employer under the PALM scheme.
Completing and submitting relevant documentation to coordinate new PALM arrival groups.
Managing and reporting on issues and incidents among PALM employees.
Be a main point of contact for PALM employees, supervisors and DEWR.
Coordinating onsite information sessions for workers on road safety, ****** health etc.
Assisting employees to make important appointments, accompanying them when required.
Helping to coordinate mobilisations for new groups of workers.
Assist in organising and setting up rental housing for PALM workers.
Completing regular welfare visits for these workers.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills and abilities:
Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential for the position.
Previous experience in a business or administrative type setting would be well regarded.
Experience working with employees from different nationalities and cultures.
Proven ability to cultivate and foster relationships with key stakeholders.
Strong organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Ability to work autonomously, showing initiative and discretion.
Current unrestricted driver’s licence.
