Grade: 05/06
Salary range: $99,938 - $110,271 + super
Employment Type: Ongoing
Location: Available for hybrid work arrangements; open to locations including Gosford, Parramatta, and the Sydney CBD

SafeWork NSW is the state’s workplace health and safety regulator. Our mission is to protect NSW workers by preventing and reducing work-related fatalities, serious injuries, and illnesses. About the role
As a People and Culture Administration Officer, you'll play a vital part in delivering high-quality, customer-focused people and culture support across both generalist HR and talent functions. You’ll provide practical advice and operational support to ensure our workforce practices are inclusive, compliant, and aligned with business goals.
Working across recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee lifecycle activities, you’ll also contribute to initiatives that enhance our employee experience, support capability building, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Support end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition, including the Inspector progression process, in line with GSE legislation and best-practice talent methods.
Deliver timely, accurate generalist HR advice to managers and staff on a wide range of workforce matters.
Monitor and manage enquiries through our Talent and People & Culture shared inboxes, ensuring prompt and professional service.
Assist in interpreting awards, policies, and industrial instruments to support fair and consistent practices.
Provide confidential and considered HR support to internal stakeholders, exercising empathy and sound judgment.
Maintain accurate HR records and systems to support compliance and reporting obligations.
Contribute to workforce initiatives such as inclusive hiring, onboarding improvements, and capability programs.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
What We’re Looking For
We're after someone who brings:
A strong understanding of recruitment and generalist HR practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to navigate sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
Familiarity with government processes, HR systems, or industrial frameworks is a plus (but not essential).
