About the role
Planet Plumbing is seeking an experienced and hands-on Procurement Manager to lead, develop and drive its procurement function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and managing a small team, this role is instrumental in shaping strategy and embedding best-practice procurement across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
Lead, develop and enhance purchasing operations to deliver quality, cost effective outcomes
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering communication and collaboration
Lead negotiations with suppliers to achieve favourable contract terms, including pricing, delivery schedules and payment terms
Develop and manage contracts with suppliers to ensure contractual compliance and performance
Create and manage purchase orders, track inventory, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services
Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to procurement activities
Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with the overall business strategy
Analyse purchasing data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies and implement strategies to optimise procurement outcomes
Identify risks and develop strategies to mitigate risks across all procurement activities across the supply chain
Develop and implement procurement and inventory management procedures and policies that support consistency, efficiency, and compliance
Optimise procurement workflows and reporting capabilities utilising current systems (including Jobpac and Evolve)
Stay across supply chain trends and risks, ensuring procurement activities remain cost-effective, innovative and future-ready
Provide internal training and guidance on procurement processes and systems
Skills and Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within a dynamic, complex and project focused business (construction or similar industry)
Knowledge of products and suppliers within the construction industry (plumbing and/or civil knowledge highly desirable)
Proven experience in commercial negotiations and achieving cost effective outcomes
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
