The Adult Intensive Care Unit (AICU) is a mixed specialty unit with a variety of cardiac critically ill patients.
The nurses on this unit create, nurture, and sustain a healthy work environment with a focus on the patient. Our staff members take ownership of decisions in which top quality outcomes are achieved.
On this 12-bed unit, nurses primarily care for respiratory failure, ARDS, sepsis, and shock, DKA, heart failure, renal failure, complex vascular ENT surgeries, high risk surgical cases, STEMIs, and strokes. As a Registered Nurse you will work in collaboration with both our intensivists and hospitalist team, PT/OT, case management, patient/family liaison, and multiple other disciplines to ensure our patients are receiving excellent care.
Nursing skills gained on this unit:
Critical care assessment skills
Training for CRRT, IABP, Targeted Temperature Management (TTM), hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
Assist with bedside procedures, such as central line and arterial line placement, bronchoscopy, intubation, chest tube insertion, and thoracentesis
Fostering support for patients and families during critical illness

Multiple DAISY Award nominees and 2 winners in 2023
5 Years CLABSI free in November 2023
Multiple RNs with CCRN certification

Full Time | Part-Time for Nights & Days
Qualifications
Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
