Responsibilities
The Senior Cost Accountant will be a trusted business partner for the Operations and Senior Management Teams
The Senior Cost Accountant will plan, analyze and communicate key financial information through detailed reports and analysis of production costs related to three manufacturing facilities and all product families
Coordinate and oversee the Company’s cycle and physical counts and analyze inventory for excess and obsolete reserves
As part of the finance team, you will build the foundation of operations and financial analysis for our manufacturing centers across the US
Plan, collect and analyze data to determine costs of product production such as raw material costs, labor and overhead
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing processes to determine impact on the cost of products
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports and related analysis which compares standard costs to actual production costs
Assist in estimating cost of new and proposed products
Provide management with reports comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products inclusive of current inflation trends
Partnering with the operations teams to ensure proper inventory management, annual physical inventory validations and daily cycle counts are performed in accordance with policy
Establish overhead rates for inventory and labor and update as appropriate
Participates in the monthly financial close including inventory account reconciliation and analysis, gross margin analysis and various other reconciliations as assigned
Prepare and lead presentation of inventory balances and key drivers to Senior Management
Supports Controller and operations managers with cost analysis, process modifications and system related troubleshooting
