POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT

Moss' Solar Staff Accountant I is responsible for performing general ledger reconciliations for Moss and other related companies, while maintaining and entering corporate-level journal entries. The Staff Accountant I collaborate across teams to ensure financial integrity and supports financial reporting efforts in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform general ledger reconciliations for certain accounts/companies

Enter and updates corporate related journal entries

Maintain and update fixed asset records

Update monthly reconciliations

Prepare interim financial statements for related companies

Assist with year-end external audit and tax returns

Respond to inquiries, assist with research as needed, participate in special projects and provide ad-hoc financial analysis

Assist in the preparation of division and project budgets, including monitoring variances between budgeted and actual expenditures

Conduct monthly closing activities by ensuring all journal entries are posted on time and aligned with the company’s financial close calendar

Assist in the management of deposits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivables, accruals, and reserves to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance

Assist in the preparation of financial statements

Assisting with monthly review and reclassification of overhead accounts

Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in accounting required

1-3 years of work experience in Financial Accounting department

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

High degree of attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required
