Sydney Water have partnered with Delivering 4 Customers (D4C) to deliver; design, construct, maintenance and facilities management services as part of the P4S program in Sydney Water's Southern Region of Sydney.
D4C is a consortium comprising of John Holland, Service Stream and WSP. We will provide long term employment opportunities to diversify the skills of the people of the southern region of Sydney as well as creating pathways to enter the water industry.
D4C is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their expanding team to deliver excellence in the waste water program of works across the Southern Region.
What this role will entail?
This role will be an integral part of the project team owning the outcome for construction delivery of their projects. This role will focus on the upgrade of pumps, pipework, switchboards, and valves on pumping stations, odour control and chemical dosing units.
As a Project Engineer, you'll be leading a program of works and joining at the start of a 10-year project. Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
Supporting Construction Leads to ensure allocated projects are delivered to scope within time, cost, quality and regulatory standards.
Setting daily, weekly and long term project programs to achieve required project outputs with plant, labour, materials and resources.
Monitor and review costs, invoices and claims for allocated projects
Contributing to the constructability of a project with respect to design development
Undertaking tender, evaluation, and award of subcontract procurement packages
Monitor the quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material against drawings and specifications and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary as per Inspection and Test Plans.
Analyse and use document and record management, progress and project performance reporting compliance reporting
Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of self perform workforce and subcontractors to achieve outcomes
Liaise and coordinate with all external parties and relevant statutory authorities and manage their attendance on site as necessary.
Contribute to and foster a good safety, quality, environment and a community culture with a view to deliver differently.
Essential Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction, Construction Management or equivalent
Minimum 5-10 years' engineering experience
Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements
Demonstrated leadership in health, safety, quality and environmental management
Client relationship and stakeholder management experience
Highly competent with MS office
Drivers licence
