Summer Tech Instructor – Coding, Digital Art & STEM Programs

OVERVIEW
This is a teaching position focused on delivering fun, engaging courses in coding, digital art, and technology to children and youth. As a KGM Summer Camp Instructor, you will help spark creativity, build confidence, and introduce young learners to the exciting world of tech. We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals who enjoy working with kids and are ready to lead hands-on activities in a structured, supportive environment.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Deliver engaging tech-based lessons that inspire curiosity and creativity
· Guide students in creating real projects using our pre-developed curriculum
· Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
· Work collaboratively with volunteers and assistant instructors
· Assist with classroom setup, daily logistics, and safety procedures
· Participate in team meetings to share feedback and improve programming
· All instructors will receive detailed lesson plans and full training in required software and hardware before the start of camp.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK
Courses will be delivered at community centres throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Instructors will be assigned locations based on their home address and proximity; however, flexibility to travel within the assigned region is required. We are currently hiring instructors in the following areas:
York Region: Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Bradford, Aurora, Newmarket
Durham Region: Ajax, Whitby, Scugog
Simcoe Region: Barrie, Georgina, East Gwillimbury
QUALIFICATIONS
· A passion for working with children and helping them succeed
· A positive, flexible, and growth-oriented attitude
· Experience with children through school, work, or volunteering
· A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (required for equipment transport)
· Interest in technology is an asset—but not required. We value energy, enthusiasm, and dedication above all!
TRAINING & ONBOARDING
· Full training provided, including software tools, classroom setup, and safety procedures
· All instructors must complete Standard First Aid & CPR-C and obtain a Vulnerable Sector Screening
· HIGH FIVE® certification is highly encouraged as it demonstrates your commitment to child development
