Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all general ledger activity, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Ensure compliance with all internal processes and controls as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidance
Coordinate with external auditors, manage preparation and support of all external audits
Develop and implement best practices for financial management and control
Participate in strategic planning, fraud prevention, and budget development
Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment strategy
Review construction in progress (CIP) schedules and ensure accurate capitalization of assets
Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs
Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role in the construction industry.
• Proven expertise in managing financials, entries, balance sheet, intercompany, and construction.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Self-starter with the ability to streamline functions and passion to learn and grow.
