JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Student Worker – Events Crew position entails two different aspects:
1. Event Set-Up Staff
2. Day-Of Event Staff
Students who are hired for the Events Crew position are required to work Event Set-Up AND Day-Of Event shifts.
JOB DESCRIPTION
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
An Event Set-Up Staff member provides the event set-up and maintenance of furnishing for all events that take place on campus. The duties and responsibilities of Event Set-Up Staff include, but are not limited to, the following:
Complete required event set-ups for various on-campus events.
Break down events and store furnishing properly.
Report any problems with furnishings and/or A/V equipment to the University Event Coordinator.
Assure facility and furnishing cleanliness prior to, during, and after each on-campus event.
Clean and organize event storage rooms on a weekly basis.
Inventory event supplies and furnishings on a weekly basis.
Ensure furnishings are clean and in working order.
Perform other duties on shift as assigned by the University Event Coordinator.
Employees must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, stand for extended periods, and bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
Day of Event Staff Responsibilities:
The Day-Of Event Staff are responsible for overseeing all the needs for assigned events that take place on campus. Day-Of Event Staff must work with clients (internal and external), focusing on customer service and supporting any last-minute needs for the success of the client’s event. The duties and responsibilities of the Day-Of Event Staff include, but are not limited to, the following:
Check-in with the University Event Coordinator upon arrival at the event to learn specific requirements and expectations of the assigned event.
Inspect the event space and ensure it is in good condition for the client prior to the start of the event.
Meet with the client prior to the start of the event to ensure that the room/space is set up according to their desired specifications and make sure they have everything they need as well as any special direction for the event.
Ensure all doors are unlocked for the event, pending any special instructions from the client regarding a specific time for doors to open for the event.
Monitor the event, aid in any needs, and address any concerns. Ensure the event is successful in the eyes of the client as well as Event Services.
Assist with procedures in case of an emergency during the event.
Report any issues or concerns to the University Event Coordinator prior, during, and after the event.
Perform other duties on shift as assigned by the University Event Coordinator.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be currently enrolled or attending classes at Florida Polytechnic University.
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.25 and have successfully completed 9 credits or more in the most recent fall or spring semester with a GPA of 2.0 or better.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS OF LAW:
This position requires a criminal background check.
This position is subject to federal and state privacy regulations.
EXPECTED STARTING SALARY: $13.25 hourly
