Job description, work day and responsibilities
A Day in the Life and the Impact You’ll Make:
The IEH Lab Technician is responsible for assembling laboratory scale pressure test equipment and troubleshooting equipment. Conduct tests, collect data, and report results to the supervisor.
What You’ll Do:
Plan, set-up and trouble shoot pressure lab scale reactors.
Conduct standard and non-standard high temperature / pressure testing with minimal supervision.
Set up and calibrate laboratory testing system in coordination with test engineer.
Must be able to trouble shoot problems, learn laboratory testing procedures.
Manage and report data in a professional manner.
Maintain test equipment.
What You’ll Bring:
Must have basic working knowledge with pressure vessels, lab equipment, pipes and pressure fittings.
Laboratory work experience in similar field, pilot scale plant setting a plus.
Must have good written and communications skills.
Experience in laboratory setting with data acquisition systems.
Associate’s degree or 1-2 years relevant work experience.
Physical Considerations:
This is a lab-based position with extended periods of computer-based work.
Occasional lifting (less than 50 lbs).
Ability to move and conduct work with full range of motion.
Extended periods of computer-based work
Extended periods of standing
Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment
Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment.
Physical requirements are: sitting, walking, standing, use of stairs
The position is located in a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.
May work around and/or be exposed to chemicals and/or chemical fumes
May work around and/or be exposed to chemical, electrical, and mechanical hazards
May be exposed to potential loud noise levels
May be exposed to potential dust, allergens and irritants
May be exposed to controlled substances
May be exposed to pharmaceuticals
May work with extreme temperatures
Personal protection equipment are furnished

Compensation:
The base pay for this position is $20.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour. Actual pay is based on several factors including position-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
