Côté Gold is being developed in partnership with the Mattagami First Nation, Flying Post First Nation and Métis Nation of Ontario, Region 3.

The open-pit gold mine is a joint venture between IAMGOLD and Sumitomo Metal Mining Co. Ltd. and is operated by IAMGOLD. We are located near Gogama, Ontario, with access to stable infrastructure and strong connections with our local communities.

RECRUITER

The Recruiter is pivotal in sourcing, attracting, and hiring qualified professionals who contribute to the success and growth of the Côté Gold operation. The Recruiter will collaborate closely with hiring managers and stakeholders throughout the recruitment life cycle and ensure a seamless candidate experience throughout the hiring and onboarding process. This role will be based out of the Sudbury Office on a Monday to Friday schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1:

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process.

Proactively source candidates through various channels.
Conduct thorough screening of resumes and applications to identify potential candidates and shortlist.
Use effective interviewing techniques to assess candidates’ skills, experience and fit for roles.
Coordinate and conduct interviews with hiring managers and other stakeholders.
Manage the pre-employment check process, including references, background checks and medicals.
Coordinate all onboarding activities, including PPE orders, orientation signup, IT requests, etc.
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
Create employee file with all appropriate documentation.
Area 2:

Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Partner closely with other HR Business Partner to provide regular updates on recruitment activities and candidate pipelines.
Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
Use data insights to optimize recruitment strategies and improve hiring efficiency.
Participate in regular operations department meetings to understand the recruitment needs and priorities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

minimum qualifications, formal education, certifications or equivalents

Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
Work experience - Nature & Length

At least 1 year of experience in recruitment or a similar role, preferably within the mining industry or heavy industry sector.
Additional qualifications - Competency requirements

Understanding of the mining industry and the specific roles within it is in asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with candidates and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS and other recruitment software/tools.
