Key Requirements of the Senior Accountant
• Fully or part-qualified (ACCA/ACA) or QBE.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice.
• Familiarity with auditing techniques is advantageous but not required.
• Up to date with continuing professional development (CPD) and accounting training.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with CCH accountancy software is preferred, though training will be provided if necessary. Experience with Sage software is also desirable Key Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
• Preparing annual accounts for a diverse client base, including complex limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships, using accounting software in line with established accounting principles.
• Drafting corporation tax computations and returns for managerial review.
• Handling deferred tax calculations and tax reconciliations.
• Preparing VAT returns and demonstrating knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Creating periodic management accounts for internal reporting purposes.
• Ensuring timely submission of year-end company accounts and corporation tax returns in compliance with Companies House and HMRC deadlines.
• Addressing client inquiries via phone, email, and in person as needed.
