Sales Operations Manager

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

Lead and inspire high-performing sales teams across multiple locations to deliver commercial results, exceptional customer experiences, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive strategic planning, financial performance, and continuous improvement across retail operations.
Be part of a dynamic automotive group with a strong customer-first culture, innovative tools, and access to competitive employee benefits.

About us:

As a distributor, we take responsibility for a brand in a given market. This means managing vehicles and parts on behalf of an OEM from the factory gate or port, and then taking care of every part of the value chain, from logistics to sales to end users. We also provide Value Added Services for customers throughout the lifecycle of a vehicle.

About the role:

Lead the sales team within your market to deliver results aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with central functions to drive site performance and profitability. Through effective leadership and tactical planning, increase market share, enhance customer experience, and execute improvement plans that achieve both top-line growth and bottom-line efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Lead and develop high-performing sales teams across Inchcape to deliver results aligned with the business plan, ensuring team engagement, capability development, and a strong performance culture.
Collaborate with central functions, Retail Centre Managers, and OEM partners to align operational execution with profitability and customer experience targets.
Drive market share growth and profitability by executing marketing plans, identifying business improvement opportunities, and embedding digital technologies to streamline the sales process.
Ensure financial performance by achieving KPIs across vehicle volume, gross profit, F&I, aftermarket sales, and cost control, while optimising stock management and forecasting.
Champion a customer-centric culture that delivers exceptional service, maximises lead conversion, meets OEM satisfaction standards, and drives repeat business.
Implement and maintain operational best practices and compliance across all sites, continuously improving processes to support sales efficiency and customer satisfaction.

About you:

Proven experience leading high-performing teams in a sales-focused environment, with the ability to drive accountability, performance, and team development.
Strong commercial and strategic acumen with the ability to manage full P&L responsibility, influence key stakeholders, and deliver both customer satisfaction and business results.
Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire, engage, and guide teams through change while aligning them to business goals and vision.
Automotive experience is desirable but not essential; success in this role requires a customer-first mindset, a passion for products, and the ability to work collaboratively with OEM partners and internal stakeholders

Benefits:

Enjoy more time doing that you love with additional days off including an extra 3 days of paid Family Leave every 3 years, plus 1 day each year of paid Volunteer Leave.
Access to our employee benefits program including company car rental program, discounts on vehicle purchases and services, free annual flu vaccination, corporate health care plan with Bupa, financial services support, company-paid salary continuance, Death and TPD insurance, and a comprehensive employee wellbeing program.
